Exec transfers his skill to organic beef startup

Crane's Chicago Business - May 10, 2004 - Scott Lively is an unlikely player in the organic beef business. Not only does he have zero experience in agriculture or the food industry, but the closest he's come to farming is hunting pheasants in a cornfield in Clark, S.D.

Yet Mr. Lively, who has a background in supply chain management and computer software sales, is now selling organic food and looking to turn his privately held Dakota Beef LLC into a national success.
